Hui Takatāpui 2026 is an opportunity for us to come together through shared experience — to educate, to reclaim, and most importantly, to have fun.

We know the generational gap within our communities needs to be bridged. While our younger generations have much to learn from us, we recognise that we have much to learn from them. Through kotahitanga, we believe we can stand together to represent both this hui and the collective strength of our communities.

If Te Kāhui Takatāpui is our iwi, then as Whakawāhine we are a hapū within that iwi. We see this hui as an opportunity to stand firmly in our tūrangawaewae and affirm where we belong.
