Rāmere | Friday, 16 Whiringa-ā-nuku 2026
Dinner
Makaurau Marae
19:00
As different ope arrive, they are welcomed into the wharenui through whakatau, joining those already gathered. Each ope is invited to respond to our kūini through harirū and kōrero — sharing their intention for the hui, what they bring, and how they seek to move together beyond it.
Rainbow organisations come forward to present to our kūini, offering insight into their mahi, their support, and their commitment to whakawāhine and takatāpui communities. These moments create space for visibility, accountability, and shared direction.
Kōrero flows across the day — from community, from practitioners, and from academics who wish to present. These contributions are captured and shared back with participants, forming part of the collective outcomes of Hui Takatāpui.
Throughout, laughter is shared, waiata and movement fill the whare, and the energy of the hui is carried together. Alongside this, the kaitiaki village offers mirimiri, rongoā, and pūoro — holding space for restoration, grounding, and care. Kai flows from the wharekai, sustaining the day and the people within it.
