This is a formal evening where we get to honour ourselves and the whakapapa of Hui Takatāpui - remembering the past together and dancing into a future shaped by our Whakawahine Māori.

Go big and bright or keep it chic and demure. Sequins, feathers, velvet, bold lip, a sharp suit, crown, heels or even a thigh-high boot. Think Carmen Rupe, Bambi Slut and Ramon Te Wake! Show off your mīharo version of extravaganza and strut your stuff. This is an opportunity to whakamaumaharatia our kuinitanga and sisterhood by being bold, generous and fearless. Adorn yourself in kākahu that best honours your tuakiritanga.

Guests can expect:

• Hākari served at Makaurau Marae

• Poi performance at Makaurau Marae

• Transportation to the gala

• Live performances throughout the evening at Wanderers Tavern

• Award ceremony and speeches

• Special guest performance and DJ until 12pm

• Transportation back to Makaurau Marae
