Part one:Takatāpui Talk Keynote

Donald introduces the kaupapa behind Takatāpui Talk and its purpose: recording and preserving the lived experiences, humour, creativity, identity and history of Takatāpui people.

The keynote features seven specially edited interview highlights. Each story will be introduced by Donald, followed by a short reflection on why that kōrero matters. The selected stories explore childhood, whānau, creativity, whakawāhine identity, health, being Māori and Donald’s own relationship with his father.

Each interview highlight finishes on the Takatāpui Talk logo while Donald introduces the next story.

Part Two: Takatāpui Talk LIVE Audience Kōrero

Donald takes Takatāpui Talk into the audience for five warm, spontaneous conversations with pre-selected participants who have signed filming release forms.

Each storyteller will be invited to share:

* Who they are, where they grew up and where they call home

* What being Takatāpui means to them

* What they would like young Takatāpui people to know

* What they know for sure

These conversations will be filmed and edited into individual stories for Takatāpui Talk on TikTok and Facebook, allowing the kōrero created at Hui Takatāpui to reach people beyond the room.

The session concludes by acknowledging the storytellers, the audience and the importance of preserving our voices in our own words.
