Three wāhine bringing pathways, possibility and lived experience into the room — connecting hauora, mana motuhake and future aspirations. Dr Jeannie Oliphant, Director of the Sexual Health & Tāhine Service, joins us to demystify the pathways into sexual health services and the support available to Takatāpui and Whakawahine. Jeannie will share what these services offer, how to access them, and explore the endocrinology aspects of gender-affirming care, with an Endocrine specialist joining where possible. Alongside this introducing herself through a video, Janice Liddell, Director of Nursing Māori Health for Waikato District and connected with UNITEC and the University of Waikato, opens a pathway into nursing — from rangatahi considering the profession, through study and practice, to becoming researchers and knowledge holders. With many Takatāpui having passed through her classes, Janice brings a relational perspective to what a nursing pathway can look like and where it might lead. Anna Tashkoff Kaiārahi Rangahau Takatāpui – Takatāpui Research Lead, Anna introduces us all to her Kaupapa she proudly joins us with.
